FAQ:
How do I find my ring size?
The most accurate method is stopping into a local jewelry store to get sized. If this is not an option, using a ring sizer works as well. If you would like one mailed to you (free of charge) reach out to me via email. I do not recommend measuring your finger with string, etc.
Your ring size may vary between your hands, and will fluctuate depending on the time of year and your body temperature. Measure when your hands are at room temperature. The band should feel comfortable, loose enough that it is able to go over your knuckles, but snug enough that it does not fall off.
I received my ring and it doesn’t fit, now what?
It depends on the ring, but most pieces are able to be resized for a $35 fee, plus shipping. Reach out to me via email and I’ll let you know if this is a possibility, what a better size may be, and where you can mail the piece back to me. Resizes take 2-3 weeks.
Do you offer refunds?
In most circumstances no, but I do offer exchanges depending on the situation. Reach out to me via email.
How do I care for my jewelry?
My pieces are made with materials intended to last, but how you love and care for your jewelry will greatly extend the life of these pieces. If possible, jewelry should be taken off when coming into contact with water, chemicals, or lotions. Some stones, such as opals, are more delicate, and should be treated with an extra level of care. I recommend researching and getting to know the stones in your pieces. Wearing jewelry is a form of holding stones close to your body, after all! Form a relationship with them.
Oxidation and tarnishing will naturally occur when the silver is exposed to air, but if the piece is frequently worn the natural oils in your skin will help maintain the polish. Storing jewelry in an airtight container when not wearing will slow the tarnishing process. To clean and re-polish a piece scrub with a toothbrush and gentle soap, and then use a polishing cloth to regain the shine.
As much as I aim to make jewelry that lasts, things happen: stones may become loose or fall out, bands may get bent, silver will tarnish. Reach out to me via email if your piece requires a repair, a re-polish, or just a bit of TLC. I do not offer repairs on jewelry not made by me.
Are you accepting custom orders?
I am currently accepting custom orders! More information and a form can be found on the Custom page of the website.
How long do pieces take to ship?
This depends on the piece and where I happen to be living at the time, but generally ready to mail pieces will ship in 3-5 days via USPS, and made to order pieces will ship in 2-3 weeks via USPS. International shipping is available for $15.
How and when did you get started making jewelry?
I began the process of learning in 2015 through a lot of books, internet rabbit holes, and experimentation. June Metal was officially born in 2017. Metalsmithing is one of the greatest things I’ve ever thrown myself into, and I recommend it for anyone called. There are so many wonderful in person and online workshops and classes to get started and beyond.
